TERRY YOUNGTerry recently retired from Abbott after a 38-year record of success in Sales, Sales Leadership, Strategic Leadership and Transformational Change Leadership. He is a passionate and committed advocate for building collaborative relationships among hospital operators, healthcare providers, supply chain leaders and suppliers.
Terry recently led in the development of a National Account Executive strategy with Abbot Nutrition. This transformed the business units' approach to customer engagement through a customer-centric focus to assess and understand needs as a pre-requisite to strategic decision-making and business planning. Prior to joining Abbott, Terry worked for 5 years in pharmacy at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He assisted the implementation of an in-pharmacy supply room and supply management process, which dramatically improved drug delivery efficiency. Terry also worked on teams to improve pharmacy inventory management and overall improvement in the services to physicians, nurses and patients. Terry is a teacher at heart and has a strong interest in, and understanding of, the challenges that suppliers face in a post-COVID environment. Terry has developed a strong network of supply chain leaders who have had the task of navigating the uncharted waters of the past year. Today, supply chain leaders need suppliers who understand the voice of customers and the corresponding problems they need to solve. Suppliers are challenged today, more than ever, to know their customer, understand their problems and bring trustworthy, dependable solutions that enhance their customers ability to deliver optimal patient care. |
